Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her stage title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Her first single was released on the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 following the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. Ari Lennox continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. Then, later in the calendar, her songs was played around Dreamville. Then, in December of 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 2016, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream of the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. Then on the 9th of November she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013 she released her debut album No One as well as Pedigree. They then teamed up as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February 2019 for her debut album of the same name. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within a time, it was viewed more than 3 million views. In support of the track she performed in concert with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
