Kim Delaney was an American actress. She is most famous for her role as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she received an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her role on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a household worker. She grew up within a household that included four brothers. While she had a childhood goal of becoming journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days when Delaney started modeling. After moving from New York City and gaining experiences with commercials in New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teenager in the film All My Children. Since then Delaney has been in a variety of films television movies and dramas. While she has a successful professional life, Delaney's personal one is not as happy and prosperous. She has also experienced two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcoholism. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the sole child she was born with.
